August 7, 2008, NANOG44 PC Meeting Minutes

  • Merit attendees: Gayle Terkeurst

  • SC attendees:

  • PC attendees: Brian Deardorff, Nick Feamster, Igor Gashinsky, Kobi Hsu, Rodney Joffe, Sylvie LaPerriere, Keith Mitchell, Kevin Oberman, Lane Patterson, Ren Provo and Richard Steenbergen

  • Known conflicts: Larry Blunk, Mike Hughes, Josh Snowhorn and Todd Underwood

The goal of the third call was to review conditional acceptance resubmissions and any new presentations for NANOG44 and NANOG45.

Panelists and the Moderator will be announced shortly for the Internet Pioneers panel focused on IPv6 challenges.

Lightning Talks will be accepted beginning late September.

NANOG44's program is now full and submissions are no longer being accepted for the October meeting.

Presenters will be asked to load their slides onto the speaker's laptop in advance of the session track. The goal is to reduce lag time between presentations and we thank speakers for working with Merit and session leaders to make this happen. Merit may also make mention of this during the Community Meeting so NANOG45 presenters are made aware of the need to complete their presentation in a timely manner.

Presentations, tutorials, BOFs and panel ideas should be focused towards either NANOG45 in January 2009 or NANOG46 in June 2009.

Panels focused on emerging data center cooling techniques, DNSSEC considerations and regionally focused networking concerns are currently being sought for NANOG45.

We intend to begin accepting submissions for NANOG46 in November.

Submitted on 7-Aug-08 by Ren Provo, Vice-Chair, NANOG Program Committee.
